As part of the celebration of HYDE's 20-year solo career, not only in Japan but worldwide, HYDE himself supervised the production of the entire app. With motifs inspired by HYDE's live performances, playing the game allows you to immerse yourself deeply in HYDE's world.
The game offers simple and easy controls for you to experience the cool running action, and since the courses change every time you run, you can enjoy playing the game repeatedly. Additionally, you can customize your own room using room items collected during the running game, and enjoy HYDE's messages and voices through items, photos, and posters all related to HYDE. - Can I play "HYDE RUN" for free?
- Yes, you can enjoy most of the content for free. All courses and most of the room items can be obtained for free. However, there are some items that can only be obtained for a fee, and there are some consumable items that you need to pay for to make your races more efficient.
- What is the purpose of playing "HYDE RUN"?
- Let's run with HYDE and collect crystals and room item pieces. The collected crystals can be exchanged for room items at the Crystal Exchange. Room item pieces, which occasionally appear mixed with crystals, become valuable room items when you collect a certain number of the same ones. (Room items are similar to furniture.)
Decorate your "My Room", where HYDE is hiding, with the collected room items. Among the room items, there are those where you can listen to HYDE's voice and see HYDE's photos. Let's collect a lot of items to decorate the room luxuriously and also collect original content such as HYDE's voice and images.
How to enjoy playing
- What should I do at first anyway?
- First, let's go for a run!
You can proceed to the run by selecting the course and items from the "RUN button" at the bottom center of the main screen. Depending on the results of your run, you will be able to run in to a gacha, where you will collect crystals and room item pieces. - Let's try to run!
- Runs are started from the "RUN button" at the bottom center of the main screen. The normal courses are for beginners and the rare courses are for advanced players. Once you get used to the game, you should mainly play on the Rare Courses.
In Run, you flick the screen to change the course, jump, avoid or overcome obstacles, and reach the goal. Please refer to the "About Run" section for detailed instructions.
In this game, obstacles are there not only for you to have a chance to avoid them, but also a chance to perform cool parkour actions. This is called "COOL Trick". Do not just run, but do more "COOL tricks" to achieve cool running action! - Collect room items!
- Room items are like furniture. They include desks, chairs, sofas, chests, lamps, pictures and posters for the walls, accessories that can be placed on the desk, and room designs that can change the floor and wallpaper of the entire room. By collecting these items and placing them in the room, you can decorate the room more luxuriously.
Ordinary room items (★1-★2) can be obtained by exchanging crystals at the Crystal Exchange, but rarer room items (★3 or higher), which are more valuable, can only be obtained by collecting a certain number of room item pieces that appear from the gacha. - Collect rarer items!
- Rare room items (★3 or higher), which are more valuable, can only be obtained by collecting a certain number of room item pieces that appear from the gacha. (With the exception of a few, they cannot be obtained from the Crystal Exchange.)
Room item pieces can be completed into a room item, that can be placed in a room, by collecting "10 pieces" for ★3 room item pieces and "5 pieces" for ★4 room item pieces. By collecting more pieces, you can unlock HYDE's message and voice hidden in the item. - Play for a discount by watching the video! (1) - Main screen

About the Run
- What is the power needed for the run?
- You need power to go for a run. Power is indicated by a green gauge at the bottom of the RUN button on the main screen (or at the top of the Course & Item Selection window when starting a run). A certain amount of power is consumed each time you run, and when it reaches zero, you will not be able to run anymore.
The normal course consumes "1" power, and the rare course consumes "2" powers. All consumed power will be automatically recharged twice a day at 4:00am and 4:00pm JST. Power can also be recharged with the "Power Recover" item. (The amount of recharge depends on the type of Power Recover item). - About Course Selection for the Runs
- At the start of the run, the course is selected. Normal courses are for beginners, with shorter courses and lower difficulty levels. Rare courses are for advanced players with some experience and are longer and more challenging.
Note that there is a difference in the amount of power required for the Normal Course and the Rare Course. Rare courses consume more power, but the expected rewards from the post-race gacha are higher.
Also, the course content of the run is not the same each time, but the course configuration is randomly changed each time you choose it. - About the item selection for the run
- At the start of the run, you can choose to use an item. Items include "Note Gain," which increases the number of notes earned on a run, "Barrier," which nullifies damage taken during a run, and more. Note that some items of the same type have different amounts of the effect.
Note that there is a limit of two items per race that can be used in a run (you can only use one item of the same type). - How to play the run game (controls)?
- Once you start, HYDE will automatically start running. During the run, you can perform primarily three types of actions using screen flick gestures:
【Left/Right Flick】~ Move left or right between lanes (input COOL trick actions in specific gimmicks)
【Up Flick】~ Jump (input COOL trick actions in specific gimmicks)
【Down Flick】~ Slide (input COOL trick actions in specific gimmicks)
Additionally, there are special maneuvers: mid-air lane changes with left/right flicks while jumping, and rapid descent & landing slide with a downward flick while jumping. - Basic techniques on the run - COOL tricks
- In this game, obstacles are not just something to avoid; they also present opportunities to perform cool actions. We call these 'COOL tricks.' When a 'COOL trick' is executed, HYDE's body lights up brightly as he performs even more dazzling actions.
There are also benefits to doing 'COOL tricks':
・Earn a large number of notes each time you do a COOL trick (when acquiring COOL notes).
・Gain more hearts each time you do a COOL trick (similar to experience points).
Rather than just avoiding obstacles, actively using gimmicks to perform numerous COOL tricks will lead to earning more rewards. - Collecting notes on the run
- The course during the run is filled with many notes. It's important to collect as many notes as possible while running because collecting more notes increases the number of times you can spin the gacha after the run.
There are two types of notes: 'regular notes' that you can collect just by picking them up, and 'COOL notes' that can only be obtained by doing COOL tricks. You cannot pick up 'COOL notes' nor absorb them with magnet items; you can only obtain them by doing COOL tricks on the spot.
To collect many notes, it's essential to choose courses where notes are placed and to consistently do COOL tricks. Both are necessary strategies. - Collecting hearts on the run
- Hearts function like experience points, and the more COOL tricks you do during the run, the more hearts you can earn.
The hearts you earn are settled after the run, contributing to an increase in your 'HYDE Rank.' For more details about the HYDE Rank, please refer to the section titled "About HYDE Rank". - Gimmicks during the run (1) - Volt gimmick
- "Volt action" is a chance for a low gimmick that HYDE can jump over. This is the most basic gimmick of the course.
The Volt gimmick can be overcome in a spectacular manner along with the Volt action by performing a well-timed [Up Flick] action in front of it. - Gimmicks during the run (2) - Roll gimmick
- Gimmicks such as HYDE sliding under and dodging are opportunities for [roll action]. Even if the obstacle looks like a wall at first glance, determine if a note is placed underneath it.
Roll gimmicks can be dodged with a sliding action and a brilliant dodge by performing a well-timed [down flick] in front of them. - Gimmicks during the run (3) - Wall run gimmick
- If you see a series of arrows on the wall, that is an opportunity for a 'wall run action'.
Perform a [left flick] or [right flick] operation toward the wall at the right time in front of the wall run gimmick. If the action is successful, you can then continue to run along the wall in a spectacular manner. If you want to get off the wall, during that wall run, press【Up Flick】(Jump) or【Down Flick】(Deep Flick) to get off the wall. - Gimmicks during the run (4) - Climb-up gimmick
- If a seemingly high wall is standing in your way, but there is an arrow displayed on it, you have a chance for "climb-up action".
By timing the [Up Flick] action toward the wall where the arrow is displayed, you can climb over that wall in a spectacular manner with the Climb Up Action. - Gimmicks during the run (5) - Flying gimmick
- When you see a gimmick that looks like a giant fan, that's your chance for 'flying action'.
Simply pass over the gimmick and HYDE will automatically be blown far up into the air. - Gimmicks during the run (6) - Item gimmicks
- There are also item gimmicks in which special items are placed in the course and are triggered by acquiring them.
The "MAGNET" item automatically absorbs surrounding notes for a certain period of time from the moment it is acquired. Note, however, that 'COOL notes' are not affected by this item. - About pausing during a run
- You can pause the game by tapping the pause icon in the upper right corner of the screen during a run. You can then tap the "Resume" button to resume your run, or the "Exit" button to end your run and return to the main screen.
Please note that if you "Quit" in the middle of a run, the power and items consumed in that run will not be restored. (Items used in the run are displayed in the pause window). - About damage and game over during a run
- If you fail to use the "COOL trick" to get over an obstacle during a run and hit it or hit a dead-end wall, you will be "damaged" and your life will be reduced by one. The number of lives is always displayed in the upper left corner of the screen during the run, so please pay attention to the number of lives you have left.
If your life is reduced to zero due to all the damage you acquired, the game is over. - On continuity in a run
- If the game is over, you can also return to the run again from there by using certain items (or by watching video ads). In order to get the reward that awaits you after you reach the goal, please do not give up in the middle of the run and help HYDE!
If you continue, you will not lose the items you used at the start of the run, nor the number of notes you have earned up to that point.
About Gacha
- What is gacha?
- "Gacha" is the ability to use the notes earned in a run to turn a gacha. The number of times you can turn the gacha is determined by the number of notes you have earned, the number of lives remaining at the goal, the note-gain items you have used, and other factors.
Depending on the number of times you turn the gacha, you will receive either crystals or room item pieces. Room item pieces are the source of more valuable and rare room items, and by collecting several of these pieces, you can complete a room item with a higher rarity. Crystals can also be used to exchange ordinary room items and other items at the Crystal Exchange.
For more information on what you can earn, go to the in-game "Menu" > "Gacha Offer Percentage". - Earning crystals in gachas
- Gachas mainly offer crystals. In rare cases, you can also win a large quantity of crystals (large) as a prize.
Crystals can be used in the Crystal Exchange and can be exchanged for regular room items and some other items. The lineup of items at the Crystal Exchange is subject to change, so check back often.
The maximum number of crystals you can possess is 99,999,999. - Acquiring Room Item Pieces in the gacha
- Room item pieces can be acquired in the gacha on rare occasions. Room Item Pieces are used to acquire more valuable and rare room items that cannot be obtained from the Crystal Exchange.
Room items are completed when the required number of room item pieces of the same type are matched. Please note that room items cannot be completed unless they are of the same type.
Even after the room item pieces are completed, you will need to collect more room item pieces to unlock the hidden HYDE messages and voices sounds.
Please note that if you acquire more room item pieces that you have already completed, they will automatically be converted to crystals when you acquire them. - Other ways to obtain room items
- It may take some time to collect room item pieces that can be acquired through the gacha. In such cases, collect room items that can be exchanged for crystals at the Crystal Exchange first.
The more you repeat the run, the more crystals you can collect quickly, so we recommend prioritizing the exchange at the Crystal Exchange.
